Fighting poverty through female employment

If you teach a woman to fish, you feed her for a lifetime. Our goal is to empower the women of Afghanistan by investing in female employment and enabling economic independence while fighting poverty, hunger and illiteracy – when women can  provide for their families, their children can afford to go to school instead of working. We aim to further expand our work in Afghanistan and increasingly create job opportunities by investing the profit back to the society. Some of the money will be donated to the most needy and the rest to further support disadvantaged women by providing working gear, such as sewing machines.
Women empowering women

Made in Watan was established in 2021 together with the local women in Kabul, right before the Taliban rose to power.

We want to celebrate our culture, history and art as well as honor the skills and handicraft of our mothers. Our designer and partners in Afghanistan are female and our clothes are sewn by women, specifically for us.
